Nova escala de desastre ambiental ameaça Golfo do México

O Aumento da escalada da tragédia ambiental no Golfo do México TEM DIMENSÕES MAIS TRÁGICAS DO QUE PODEMOS IMAGINAR, CONFORME
www.dia-da-terra.blogspot.com já denunciou em artigos anteriores.

he Increase of escalating environmental tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico.

01) Queima do óleo - libera enormes quantidades de CO2 na atmosfera;

02) A Pulverização de produtos químicos para diluição do óleo - contamina os oceanos tanto ou mais do que o próprio óleo;

The Increase of escalating environmental tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico.

h Increase of Environmental escalating tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Jornal do Brazil ran the story quoted below, on the fear of escalation of increased environmental tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico.

Last week we wrote several times in different articles, which attempt to contain the oil spill from British Petroleum (BP), with that type of equipment, was doomed to failure, since the crack is in great depth, 1500 meters roughly, without visibility, without the necessary technology, with strong corretenzas submarine, water pressure, and oil mixed conditions at that depth.

The biodiversity of the region is being destroyed by the huge amount of oil that leaks daily.

Besides the oil leakage occurs simultaneously leakage of gases, including methane, which is highly toxic and causes of effects on global warming.

The very company British Petroleum (BP) announced that the explosion was caused by a bubble of methane, another strong indication that an earthquake occurred and caused the release of the "bubble".

The oil spill is radically changing the water temperature in the region, reflected in global temperatures of ocean currents.

The derramamaneto oil in the Gulf of Mexico is dramatically increasing the degree of oxidation of ocean waters, which is already an alarming level.

The various solutions in an attempt to contain the oil spill increasingly aggravate the scenario of global environmental sastre:

01) Burning oil - releases huge amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere;

02) Spraying chemicals to dilute the oil - pollutes the oceans as much or more than oil;

03) The placing of pieces at that depth is a desperate move einócua, once that one seems technically impossible to contain the leak, which will entail no consequences could be analyzed at this time.

It is a matter of global security, which has already denounced in a previous GLOBAL WARMING IS A MATTER OF GLOBAL SECURITY.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is further changing the movement of ocean currents, release of gases in the atmosphere, chemical and physical composition of water, destruction of biodiversity, contamination of fish and risks unknown in geological earth's crust, already denounced the danger in the preceding article.

See the degree of danger, the lines that transcribe the article below:

New scale environmental disaster threatens Gulf of Mexico

AFP (Source: JBOnline)

THE WRITING - The fear that the American coast has to face an environmental disaster greater than expected increased Sunday after the failure of the fastest solution designed to contain a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The massive dome of the British Petroleum (BP), with which it was intended to contain an oil leak at about 1500 meters deep, is now kept in the sea while engineers try to find a way to prevent the formation of ice crystals that obstruct and prevent their installation.

The British oil company, which claimed responsibility for the disaster, thought that this summit was their "silver bullet" to solve the crisis.

BP had hoped that this summit, put on the most of the leaks, came into operation on Monday and collect, through a duct, approximately 85% oil channeling it to a ship on the surface.

But if efforts to operate this gigantic funnel failed, there is a solid Plan B to prevent tens of millions of gallons of crude oil causing one of the worst environmental disasters in history.

Are already registered incalculable damage by 13.2 million gallons of petroleum that is estimated to have leaked into the sea, and the extent of the damage will increase if the only solution is a well of aid that would take months to build.

Admiral Thad Allen, head of the U.S. Coast Guard, suggested that being considered calling it "garbage shots" to contain the major leak.

"In fact, add a heap of debris, shredded tires, golf balls and stuff, and with a very high pressure, we will shoot them on the valve itself and see if they can block it and contain the leak," said Allen coordinating the operations of American government, to CBS.

This can be risky and many experts warned that adjustments to the shutter block-a huge engine valves 450 tonnes which should have been closed with the output of oil-leak could cause 12 times more than today.

However, it is feared that the oil slick, which covers an area of about 5,200 square kilometers, reaching the Florida peninsula, further south.

"If this leak to continue for several months covering the Gulf coast and will reach the Florida Keys and Florida's east coast," he warned the senator from Florida, Bill Nelson.

"We're talking about massive economic losses to our tourism, our beaches and our fishing industry and, possibly, changes in our military training and tests that are performed in the Gulf of Mexico," said the senator told CNN.

The Deepwater Horizon platform, operated by BP, exploded on April 20 and sank into the sea two days later, killing 11 workers.

The oil slick has already reached several islands opposite the coast of Louisiana and local authorities have asked more floating barriers to protect coastal and low lying areas, which, besides being the reserve of fauna and flora, are tourist destinations and fishing that earn billions dollars.

BP pinned his hopes on the summit that would stop the leak, which launches in the sea about 800,000 gallons of oil per day.

"I would not say that already failed," he said Doug Suttle, head of BP's operations, in charge of the work. "What we try to do on Saturday did not work due to the presence of hydrates (methane) at the top of the dome," an inflammatory compound, he said.

BP began to dig a duct of emergency a week ago to permanently close the main shaft, but the drilling will take approximately three months.
